This 18 24 4 Koch MicroMAX filter (part number 120-732-005) delivers MERV 11 filtration in a compact 4-inch-deep minipleat design with a galvanized metal frame (NHM) rated for operation up to 200F / 93C the higher-temperature, heavy-duty option in the MicroMAX line.
The MicroMAX packs 120 sq ft of micro fiberglass media into a 4 depth at just 7 lbs each comparable media area to filters three times the depth and weight. The dual-density media construction (coarse fibers upstream, fine fibers downstream) maintains high dust holding capacity and extends filter life, while the water-repellent binder handles humidity without media degradation.
When MicroMAX is specified
- 4-inch filter slots commercial air handlers and AHU housings sized for shallower depth filters
- High-velocity systems operates up to 125% of rated face velocity
- Variable-air-volume (VAV) commercial HVAC rigid construction maintains performance under airflow swings
- Hospitals, pharmaceutical, and lab facilities proven media reliability in critical IAQ environments
- Pre-filter for HEPA stages common upstream filtration ahead of cleanroom or critical-environment HEPA filters
- Storage- and weight-conscious facilities 3-per-carton packaging and 7-lb filter weight reduce shipping and handling cost vs deeper alternatives

What MERV 11 captures
Captures fine dust, smoke, auto fumes, and most airborne particles down to 1 micron. A strong general-purpose efficiency for offices, schools, hotels, and light industrial.
Beverage board vs. galvanized metal frame
The MicroMAX comes in two frame configurations. The beverage board frame is high-density paperboard lightweight, cost-effective, and rated to 150F. The galvanized metal (NHM) frame handles temperatures up to 200F and stands up to demanding industrial environments where a paperboard frame would degrade. Choose beverage board for standard commercial HVAC; choose metal when the application sees elevated temperatures, aggressive handling, or extended exposure to humidity.
Use with a prefilter for maximum performance
Per Kochs recommendation, MicroMAX filters perform best when paired with an upstream prefilter that captures coarse debris before it reaches the high-MERV minipleat media. This extends MicroMAX service life and lowers total cost of ownership in dust-loaded environments.
Compatibility
The MicroMAX drops into standard 4-deep filter slots and is interchangeable with most competitive 4-inch minipleat filters in the same nominal size. The compact form factor and lightweight construction make it easier to handle and store than 12-deep alternatives with comparable media area.
